Abstract

ABSTRACT

Digital transformation has shifted democratic practices from conventional models toward technology-based participatory systems. While it provides broader opportunities for public engagement, key challenges remain, including low levels of democratic literacy, limited public participation, and the spread of misinformation in digital spaces. This study aims to develop the “Digital Democracy Literacy Corner” platform as a medium for education, participation, and public oversight. The research employs a participatory approach based on community service, consisting of planning, development, implementation, assistance, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through observation, pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and interviews involving 120 respondents from diverse backgrounds. The results indicate improvements in democratic literacy by 42%, public participation by 37%, and reporting of democratic issues by 28%. Additionally, the platform reduced misinformation by 31% and increased system efficiency by 45%. These findings demonstrate that integrating education, participation, and verification within a single digital platform is effective in strengthening participatory democracy and has strong potential for replication to support inclusive and sustainable democratic governance.
