Abstract

abstrak— Penelitian ini menganalisis perubahan tutur kata remaja yang dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan teknologi, khususnya media sosial. Media sosial telah mengubah pola komunikasi remaja, menciptakan gaya bahasa yang unik melalui penggunaan singkatan, frasa populer (slang), istilah baru, dan campur kode (code-mixing). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan data utama berupa percakapan grup WhatsApp dan didukung oleh literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial berperan signifikan dalam membentuk identitas dan pola komunikasi remaja. Singkatan dan akronim mencerminkan efisiensi, slang menunjukkan keakraban dan inovasi, istilah baru menandai penyesuaian terhadap budaya global, dan campur kode menggambarkan pengaruh globalisasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media sosial tidak hanya menjadi alat komunikasi, tetapi juga platform untuk mengekspresikan diri dan beradaptasi dengan budaya global, menandai era baru komunikasi generasu muda yang kreatif dan fleksibel.

Abstract— This study analyzes changes in adolescent speech that are influenced by technological developments, especially social media. Social media has changed the communication patterns of adolescents, creating unique language styles through the use of abbreviations, popular phrases (slang), new terms, and code-mixing. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the main data in the form of WhatsApp group conversations and supported by relevant literature. The results of the study show that social media plays a significant role in shaping the identity and communication patterns of adolescents. Abbreviations and acronyms reflect efficiency, slang indicates familiarity and innovation, new terms mark adjustments to global cultures, and mixed codes describe the influence of globalization. This research shows that social media is not only a communication tool, but also a platform to express oneself and adapt to global culture, marking a new era of creative and flexible communication of the younger generation.
